What occurs during cosmetic eyelid surgery, blepharoplasty?
During blepharoplasty, more commonly referred to as an eyelid lift surgery, excess skin and fatty tissue is removed through an incision hidden in the natural folds of the upper eyelid and an incision hidden in the lash line of the lower lid.
Is the blepharoplasty procedure safe?
Cosmetic eyelid surgery or blepharoplasty is considered very safe. Typically, it is performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthetic. There will be some swelling, bruising and minor discomfort, but it is temporary. Stitches are removed in 7-10 days and cosmetics can be applied at that time. Generally, bruising will have disappeared in about two weeks.
Can cosmetic eyelid surgery, blepharoplasty, do anything about crow’s feet?
Crow’s feet are wrinkles around the eye caused by a loss of elasticity in the skin. They are difficult to erase entirely. However, they can be reduced with treatment by BOTOX®.
