Glaucoma Awareness Health Fair
Knowledge is Power
The Spinak Medical Eye Center, in conjunction with the Rockland County Office of the Aging, held its first Glaucoma Awareness Health Fair on Wednesday, February 4th, 2015, in Pearl River.
Community seniors who braved the cold weather outside, were warmly welcomed into our Pearl River office where they received complimentary glaucoma screenings by ophthalmologist, Dr. John Chang. Besides enjoying breakfast and partaking in a array of activities including fun giveaways and a raffle for a beautiful gift basket, the health fair provided an opportunity for educational outreach.
Seniors were encouraged to learn of the many services available to them by The Rockland County Office of the Aging. The organization is a valuable resource and The Spinak Medical Eye Center was pleased to provide the community with the opportunity to meet and greet the wonderful people who staff the local office.
Also represented at the Health Fair was the Association for the Visually Impaired. Dr. Andrew Spinak has long served on the Board of Directors of this noteworthy organization. The AVI has impacted the lives of so many in very positive ways and The Spinak Medical Eye Center is a proud supporter.
The Glaucoma Awareness Health Fair was a wonderful experience; one that helps connect us with the community we serve. It is with pleasure and anticipation that we look forward to many more Health Fairs in the future.
