Corneal transplants are the most common and successful type of transplant surgery. At Spinak Medical Eye Center, we can replace a swollen or damaged cornea with a clear donor cornea and improve your vision.
Our staff will be assisting you throughout the process; from the time you make your appointment to see either Dr. Spinak or Dr. Chang through your recovery. We’re here to answer your questions.
How does a cornea get damaged?
- Sometimes a cornea is damaged due to trauma or infection.
- Keratoconus is a degenerative condition where the cornea becomes misshaped and thin.
- Inherited corneal conditions such as Fuchs’ dystrophy or lattice dystrophy may be present.
